Tinta de Toro vineyard in the D.O. Toro

Toro, Zamora

A family winery at the entrance to Toro

The Bodega Latarce wine-tourism complex sits right at the entrance to Toro, a land of great wines and great food. The area's winemaking history goes back to Roman times: these were wines that crossed the Atlantic with Columbus, and the Toro region was one of those that supplied France with wine when phylloxera devastated its vineyards in the early twentieth century.

  1. 2006

    Bodega Latarce is born

A devotion to the area's viticulture led us to become a young family winery, with a project built on the quality of the product, dedication, effort and persistence. That, together with our passion for food, came together in 2006 in the making of a dream.

  2. 2010

    Distribution begins

The particular character of the Duero and its ecosystem gave rise to the native variety we love most: the Tinta de Toro. With it we made our first wines, released in 2010, which began to travel beyond the region.

  3. 2019

    The wine-tourism complex opens

The project grew until it took shape as the Latarce Wine-Tourism Complex. In March 2019 we opened the doors of our house: an estate of more than a hectare with buildings that look like a castle. That is how our two passions, wine and food, came together.

  4. 2021

Gran Selección and Selección are born

A year of big changes. From our best harvest came the jewels of the house: the Gran Selección and the Selección. Two wines of great quality and limited production, which only a fortunate few get to enjoy.

  5. 2022

    Brand renewal

We carry on betting on honesty, quality and tradition, adapting to change to offer the best service. We like to reinvent ourselves and try new things, without forgetting where we come from or where we are going.

  6. Today

From the Duero to the world

Our wines have crossed borders and appeared at events such as the Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España and the Club del Gourmet at El Corte Inglés, as well as winning the Grand Gold at CIVAS Internacional. In Toro we carry on making wine, cooking and welcoming visitors every week.

The family behind the project

Behind every bottle there is a family: Eladio San José, founder, and a team that makes the wine, cooks and welcomes those who come to see the winery every week. We like to tell it in person, glass in hand, in the barrel hall.
